Exacta Group’s Charity Golf Day Raises £21,683 for Grief Encounter

We are very pleased to announce that this year’s Grief Encounter Charity Golf Day was the largest and most successful one so far, having raised an amazing £21,683 to assist bereaved children and young people in Bristol and the South West.

The event was held on Tuesday 8th September at the Manor House Golf Club in Castle Combe, Wiltshire, and brought together 92 players, sponsors and supporters for a full day devoted to golf, networking and fundraising to support the important work of Grief Encounter.

A Fantastic Day, Whatever the Weather

Despite some mixed weather, spirits stayed high. From breakfast on arrival through to the shotgun start, the day was packed with friendly competition, a charity auction, and a well-earned dinner to finish. It was fantastic to see so many businesses and supporters get involved for such an important cause.

We’re proud to have sponsored and hosted the event again this year, and huge thanks go to our hole and prize sponsors, Bishop Fleming, WestSpring IT, Howdens, Advent Interiors, AMBITIOUS, and others for their fantastic support.

Congratulations to all of this year’s competition winners, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who played, donated, sponsored a hole, bid in the auction, or took part in the games on the day. Every contribution helped make this event such a success.

The charity auction was a highlight of the day, with guests bidding generously on some fantastic prizes, including a Michelin-starred dine and stay in a Cottage Suite at The Manor House, and a two-night Cotswolds break for two at The Snooty Fox. Thank you to everyone who donated auction items and to all our bidders; every pound raised goes straight towards supporting bereaved children and young people.

Why It Matters

This cause is close to our hearts at Exacta Group. Our Founder and Chair, Nick, lost his mother at just thirteen years old, at a time when support for grieving young people was limited. His experience continues to drive our commitment to Grief Encounter’s mission and to making sure no child has to face bereavement alone.

Grief Encounter supports children, young people and families across England and Wales as they cope with the loss of a loved one. In 2023/2024 alone, they supported 963 children, young people and families, delivered 2,198 face-to-face therapy sessions, and distributed 645 Grief Relief Kits to those in need. Funds raised on days like this go directly towards continuing that support.

Since 2023, our Golf Day events have now raised over £70,000 for Grief Encounter.
